Tommy Shearer is prolific artist with mastery in many techniques and styles from freeform metal art using acid, dyes and extreme heat on copper, steel, stainless steel, aluminum; metal sculpture from small wall hangings to large freestanding pieces; abstract painting on various materials; wood art combining metals, wood, and vibrant coloring techniques.
With close to 40 years of creating and more than 10,000 pieces lovingly produced, Tommy incorporates many themes based on his view of natural elements with the goal of intimate enjoyment by those who bring his art into their lives. The brilliant colors Tommy achieves are the result of countless hours of experimenting with the different combinations of base materials, coloring techniques, pigments, dyes, temperature, and finishes. The final art pieces are bold simplicity mingled with intricate details and each one is an expression of Tommy’s character.
