Artist Statement:
Sarah Beebe is an abstract mixed media collage artist from San Martin, CA. She creates collages that salvage old materials such as vintage book pages, anatomical illustrations, napkins, and tissue paper and remixes them with sacred geometric patterns, esoteric patterns, and Kabbalistic symbolism. These layered elements come together to evoke the hidden structures beneath the surface of reality, as portals into the unseen subconscious mind, hinting at the fluid and nonlinear nature of experience.
She is influenced by the interplay of text, image, and symbolism, the psychology of the collective unconscious, mystic religious traditions, and uses these to build layer upon layer, where messages can be revealed through repetition, overlap, and erasure.
