Artist Statement:
I started my love of ceramics as a collector. It quickly became an obsession, so I took my first class at the Fine Arts Center in Colorado Springs in 1985. I’ve been creating my own pottery, off and on, since then…mostly “off”. We finally settled down and the kids grew up and I’ve been able to focus on my ceramics for the past 6 years. As a retired chef, I continue to focus on pottery that is functional as well as beautiful. I love working in a community of other artists and have been lucky to have found vibrant ceramic artists both at Gavilan College where I worked for 4 years, and also at Red Ox Clay Studio in Concord for the past 2 years. Come see what kinds of new things I’ve been working on this year.
