Artist Statement:
Domenica is a full time freelance artist and instructor in the Bay Area. She has a classical drawing background from San Jose State University where she studied Illustration. Domenica’s work draws inspiration from late 19th-century oil painting and American illustration. Her style merges the romanticism and discipline of Renaissance drawing with a contemporary eye for color, mood, and narrative. Her subjects for painting and drawing include portraiture, the figure, animals, local landscape and religious Catholic artwork. She works primarily in oil and watercolor.
