Artist Statement:
As a child enjoying the flowers my mother would bring home, I was always fascinated by the magical beauty of flowers and foliage and they are still the center of my life's creative energies. After my professional training, I opened my studio, Stems, in 2006. Working there with the flowers and objects of nature gives me inspiration daily. Important concepts behind my art include:
- Developing a distinct character (shape & form)
- Careful selection of color palettes (color theory)
- Use of effective design mechanics and fundamentals
- Considering and incorporating fragrant notes as a part of the composition.
Creating unique floral and mixed media designs to match custom requirements allows me to be thoughtful and analytical for my client customers.
When not in the studio, I enjoy walks on the beach, spending time with my family, and volunteering at Valley Monte League supporting mental health.
