Artist Statement:
"I love the challenge of capturing a beautiful moment and expressing the feeling I experience onto my canvas. I use meaningful broad brushstrokes to capture the energy or stillness of the scene."
Denise's plein air painting adventure is relatively new as it began in 2022. She is fortunate to study under well-known land and seascape artist Scott Hamill and also supplements those sessions with workshops.
Denise joined Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association (MBPAPA) in 2022 and was juried in as Signature Member in 2024. She currently serves on the Board as Chair of Workshops and Demos. Recent awards include 1st place in the MBPAPA General Show (2026), 1st place in the MBPAPA Natividad Show (2025), Peoples Choice Award at the Chesebro Winery Show (2025 and 2026), and several Honorable Mentions.
