Artist Statement:
Art has always been my passion. As a first-grade teacher with a master’s degree in Social Emotional Learning, I view art as far more than a creative outlet—it’s a powerful tool for growth. It fosters resilience, flexible thinking, problem-solving, and emotional expression. My ever evolving artistic style is shaped by the bold colors and free spirit of 1960s–70s music and culture, balanced by a deep sense of patriotism and respect for the military. My husband has proudly served over 22 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, and our shared commitment to service and country is a key influence in my work.
This blending of countercultural energy and military devotion creates a unique dialogue in my art—where peace, freedom, and unity coexist through color, symbolism, and mood. Though ceramics is my newest medium, I view the entire studio as my canvas.
