Photography has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up surrounded by the serene landscapes of northern California and many trips to Hawaii, I developed a great appreciation for the natural world. This connection with nature fuels my artistic vision and compels me to explore the hidden treasures of the places I visit. Every photograph I capture is a testament to my love for nature. Whether it's the majestic mountains or sandy beaches, I seek to capture the essence of each subject. Through careful composition and attention to detail, I aim to transport viewers into the very heart of the scene, allowing them to experience the magic that inspired me. Whether you're a fellow nature enthusiast, an art collector, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of our planet's landscapes, I invite you to explore my portfolio and discover the wonders that await. Each photograph reflects my passion for nature and my unwavering commitment to capturing its essence |

Throughout my life, art has been my escape from everyday challenges. While I don’t have any formal art training, I have taken opportunities to educate myself in the Pastel medium. In the past 2 1/2 years, I enrolled in an Older Adults Junior College Pastel Class and participated in many Zoom workshops led by extremely talented artists. I have also joined specific online pastel artists groups as well as the Northwest Pastel Society. Over the last year, I have had several of my paintings juried into multiple regional and nationally recognized art shows. Nothing excites me more than hearing someone say, “your art reminds me of this specific place or memory, or your art truly touches me”. As an artist, this is one of the highest compliments I could receive. I’m looking forward to sharing my artwork with you during the Morgan Hill Open Studio Weekend. Original paintings, prints and greeting cards will be available. |

Born in Texas and raised first in Wyoming and then in Colorado, Burr discovered art and cars at the same time. After school, concluding with degrees in English, and a career in an unrelated profession, clothing design, he returned to cars and art. Pencil drawings first and then acrylic paintings evolved to demonstrate an interest in an orderly, detailed world, unencumbered by people and the bluster they predictably create. People hover yet never intrude. His irrepressible sense of humor can be experienced in “Goatzilla” and “See The USA”, and is discretely exercised throughout all of the other pieces in this collection of prints. |

I have been creating art in some form or another for most of my life. I tend to do things for periods of time and then move on to other areas of interest, but I always come back to ceramics. I started doing ceramics almost 30 years ago when I lived in Colorado. I've gathered enough equipment to have my own studio, but learned that I prefer to work in community. I love working with ceramics artists in other studios or classes and enjoy the creative energy that is shared among my peers. As a retired chef, I lean toward pottery that is not only beautiful, but functional. |

I design and make kinetic, interactive gizmos. Most of my whimsical contraptions employ pencil sharpeners to power the artwork. For example -- if you sharpen a pencil with one of my creations then a wooden hand on top of the artwork will simultaneously draw you a spirographic flower. Another artwork might play out a space battle between astronauts and aliens while you sharpen your pencil. My background is not in engineering, as many people who have viewed my work at galleries and science centers have guessed. Rather, I come from a 45-year-long career as a magazine journalist and later as a park naturalist and educator. I have a passion for old monster movies, science fiction, writing, mechanical tinkering and watching how things move. I started making my mechanical artworks in my thirties as a way relieve myself of the stress of caring for an ailing parent. Since those difficult days I have never stopped constructing these flights of fancy. They relieve stress and make me smile |

My work has been displayed in various venues including one man shows, group exhibitions and private events. While my recent larger pieces have been in oils and acrylics, I continue to do a great deal of drawing, pen & ink and watercolor in my illustration work. I was very fortunate in that as a child I was allowed to make mud pies, and thus began my love of art. As my creativity developed my mud pies turned into bunny sculptures. Have you ever had such a fun experience ? The texture was delicious. Later, I dabbled in oil paints and in high school was introduced to watercolor. As time went on, I began teaching art to children, and then adults. I love sharing the world of art, every age is interesting to me. I have studied Early Childhood Education, and studied with Tom Lynch, Mel Stabins & Mary Whyte. I love creating on many different levels, whether it be art or flowers or tablescapes. If I am not in the studio teaching or painting, You will most likely find me in the garden or out in nature. |

Hi, I’m Amy, and I’m excited to share my work with you! I’ve worked with acrylics and paper for the past 25 years, but now I’m currently working in watercolor. I love painting with watercolor because it can range from such delicate rendering to passionate color and bold brush strokes. Although I’m a terrible gardener, I love the challenge of bringing flowers to life with watercolor and paper. I look forward to sharing my work with you. |

I create art because I’ve learned I must; it feeds and calms my soul. It lets my spirit soar. Having drawn since first able to hold a pencil, I began studying painting in acrylics in 2011 with artist/teacher Wayne Jiang. I am continually fascinated with the process of making an image appear three-dimensional on a flat surface. I love the interplay of light and shadow. I use an under-painting and glazing technique to achieve luminosity and depth. A wide variety of subject matter appeals to me and I have many paintings already in my head just waiting to emerge. Working from photos I have taken allows me to draw on my experience of that moment as I paint. I am honored to be the vessel this expression flows through. My mixed media art is more abstract and evolving. This is a nice balance creatively. I enjoy creating small, intimate portraits of my subjects as a tribute to honor our experience of life here on this awesome, mysterious, indescribably magnificent planet called Earth. |

My work is of a serial progression growing towards the next statement. My art reflects my background interest in linear geometric and architectural constructions, painterly textures or patinas, and imbued with primitivism of indigenous cultures thru spiritualism and meditative simplicity. Mother Earth, our environment and natural balance is threatened by a materialistic society that is weak to solve its problems. Conformity, compromise, has replaced Individualism, and definitive beliefs therefore I create art for art's sake. |

I fell in love with clay my first year in college in the Gavilan College Ceramic studio. From that point on clay has become my lifestyle, the practice, the studio, and the community. I volunteered for years at Gavilan, where I learned to love the technical side of clay. Currently I am the Instructional Technician at Cabrillo College, as well as I teach at Clay Creation in Santa Cruz. I work out of my home studio in Watsonville CA. My work focuses in on bringing functional art into the daily practice of people. Almost all of my work is wheel-thrown on a potters wheel, and is decorated with slips and carved before firing. Then my work is fired in high fire gas/wood/atmospheric kilns, to allow for the kiln at 2300^F to do its magic of putting one of a kind finish’s on the work. |

I went to San Jose State University and majored in Commercial Art and went on to expand my background to include Graphic Design. I worked as a graphic designer for 25 years. I love the creative process; taking an idea through to completion, creating a work of art. Because of my graphic design/illustrator background I tend to be more of a realist painter though I have dabbled in abstract painting as well. I work in watercolor and acrylics. Lately I have been having fun painting on Yupo paper which is 100% plastic paper. The watercolor does not soak into the paper so you get the most amazing organic shapes and color blends. I taught a watercolor class at the Morgan Hill Senior Center for 6 years and thoroughly enjoyed helping my students achieve their full potential as watercolorists. I am one of the artists that worked on the Kelly Brewery ceiling murals. I loved being a part of the artist group creating the album cover murals for brewery! |

I create abstract landscapes and still life’s by using fluid acrylics and pouring paint into a canvas. My pieces are vibrant, with a hint of realism. My training started with pencil drawing, then shifted to oil painting, printmaking, graphic design, interior design, and acrylics. I have continued my education focusing on Art and Art History and through workshops, and a 11-year apprenticeship with a local SJ Artist. |

Most of my art is minimalist, abstract or geometric. Art is not only a passion of mine, it brings me peace, harmony and it’s a creative outlet of expression. |

What started as a great pastime when we were all stuck in our homes at the beginning of 2020, acrylic fluid art has become a passion. I love the bright colors and the organic, free-form. After experimenting with most of the techniques – Dutch pours, string pulls, flip cups, swipes, blooms, and so many more – I am now enjoying perfecting my style and control of the paint. Although, I have learned that there are times when the paint creates something beautiful all by itself. Most of my art is on canvas, but part of the allure of acrylic fluid art is that it can be applied to just about any hard surface. My collection often includes tiles, coasters, cutting boards, and trays. My background is in marketing communications and graphic design with emphasis on designing brochures, advertising, and packaging . . . and has led me to the inspiring world of fluid art. |

I am a self-taught jewelry designer based in San Jose. My pieces use a wide range of materials, including beads, wire, vintage jewels, buttons, and keys. Much of the excitement of my work lies in transforming the old and discarded to create something new and original. A face from a broken watch, a button from a faded blouse, or an unused pendant can gain new life as the focal point of a piece of jewelry. I do not limit myself to the old, however – I draw inspiration from a variety of modern sources as well, from popular culture to nature. I find that the style of old Hollywood and the passing of the seasons have a timeless quality. I build on these themes in my work in an effort to produce designs that are not only distinctive but versatile – designs that can be worn for casual, everyday style or for a special occasion. |
